World Habitat Day 2008
We just completed a full day of activities both at Fordham University and at The United Nations in recognition of World Habitat Day. The Theme this year, tying in with the WUF IV next month in Nanjing, China, was “Harmonious cities,” and the morning forum focused on “Green cities of the 21st Century: Harmonizing natural & built environments.”
World Habitat Day 2007
The United Nations has designated the first Monday in October every year as World Habitat Day to reflect on the state of human settlements and the basic right to adequate shelter for all. It is also intended to remind the world of its collective responsibility for the future of the human habitat. Brochure available here. This year's World Habitat Day was a great success.
