Meetings

Our committee meets monthly at the UN Church Center: 777 United Nations Plaza, NEW YORK NY 10017.

Arline L. Bronzaft, PhD will be speaking on "Urban noise: A global challenge".

Why is urban noise becoming an increasing quality-of-life issue in the world’s cities today, and what can urban planners do about this?  Arline Bronzaft has had a 40-year career as a key environmental psychologist, an international expert on noise and its reduction, and the Chairperson of the Noise Committee of the Council on the Environment of NYC.  Here, she reviews the behavioral impact of noise, and the NYC noise code she helped develop to reduce this impact.
